About The Author

Meet Wallace H. John, the creative genius behind Chasing Hemingway. Born in Manhattan, New York City, he grew up in the Catskill Mountains. From a young age, he explored the forests and mountains, learned to fish and hunt, and spent extensive time hiking and camping throughout the area. He became interested in history in high school with an extended interest in biology and forestry, which shaped his early college experiences and led him to become a teacher in United States History. His prominent influencers in high school were an English teacher and a Social Studies teacher.

Wallace has a bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Political Science and History majors and is certified to teach Social Studies in grades 7 through 12. He has also done graduate school work in United States history, specializing in diplomacy and foreign policy in the United States. He completed his coursework and passed his comprehensive exams but did not complete his dissertation for his Ph.D. in United States History.
